Financing, Check.......Yay

Well the financing is now finalized, offer accepted and Matthew and I now have a house. A cute little semi detached 2 bedroom house with a large lot just waiting for our gay landscaping and decorating ideas. This is going to be fun, and we are both up for the challenge of a total renovation. Excited it is in the area we wanted and also so excited that we are not going to be in our tiny apartment any more. The cats and dogs will be so damn happy as well to have a yard and space in the house to run around for a bit. So excited that I have been now planning a cool house warming party for our friends before the renovation and then we can have another party wen we are all done everything and the renovations are completed. Yay, excuses for a party, what can be better!
My sister in-law is gonna send me some of her decorating cutouts so we can plan things and has also hooked me up with a couple websites to help us with all the changes we want to make. So thankful for her and her decorating inspirations and plans and things she as accomplished in her own house. More on family news, dad is home again and doing okay, very thankful for this as well. My sister Cheryl had her birthday yesterday and today is my great nieces birthday, happy birthday Chantel.
Yesterday a sad day for all true music lovers around the world, as the death of Whitney Houston came over the news, i have so many fond memories of her music at different times in my life. I will always have her music and her movies and they will be enjoyed by all around the world for a lifetime to come.
Matthew and I went out last night for a bit and had a couple cocktails at our new favorite bar Boutigue on Church Street here, it is a lovely little lounge and so much fun and the bartenders and owner all know us by now and what we we drink. It is nice to walk into a bar and be treated like you belong. Love it there, if have not been, please go and check it out and I guarantee you will love it, great martinis , great staff and alot of fun. Also the place where you can actually meet real people who have the time to say hi. It is not a pretencious horrible place like Woodys,  where it is what I call an S and M bar, which means stand and model and that is exactly what the bar staff and 85% of the customers do there, ICK!!!
So that is it for now, love you all and thanks for reading, talk soon, your gay neighbor!

Finally

Okay so here is what is going on in our lives. This week has been an up and mostly down week for me and I have been stressed to every limit and beyond. Still waiting to find out about final financing on the house and hopefully that will come through soon. We got our house 2 weeks ago now and it is in the price range and area that we wanted, now we are just waiting on an answer on the final financing and as soon as we get that , then we can plan to move in and take possession of our new home.
Second thing that happened this week was we received an eviction notice on the apartment which was totally odd as they claimed I did not pay our rent! I went down to the office wit a coy of my bank statements showing the rent check coming out on the second of February and the ass in the office George still would not believe me. I went back down half an hour later and gave him our notice to vacate and told him not to expect a check for march rent as I have already paid my last month rent in this dump. I was so pissed off and am just totally done wit this building and the bullshit here. The elevators only work 1/3 of the time, it is disgustingly messy and they rarely vacuum the halls, the staircases are always a disgusting mess and the neighbors here really suck. Yes not too much good in this building except we have a roof over our heads. And to have some more space will be so nice and I just can't wait to have a yard again.
Then this week dad went into the hospital again and they still don't know what is wrong with him and why he does not seem to be getting any better. I hope they find out soon. This is so stressful on Mom and just not good for either of them. I hate the fact that they have both been through this and he is sick at all. I just am thankful that I still ave them both and they are here and together. Between health issues wit dad and cancer with Mom, it has been a very rough 3 years for the both of them. Life just sucks sometimes.
Also this week I went to W.A.Y.L.A. Bar hopefully for the last time ever! I had to pick up my R.O.E. and holiday pay from the french asshole. I can say that , because that is truly what he turned out to be.  In the time I worked at the Bar, I truly enjoyed it there and was very happy, or so I thought, in the end I figured out  that I was being used and being lead on by not only the owner but also by some of the staff. It is amazing how blind you can be when people are nice to your face. I should know by now that gay men in a large percentage are just pricks in every way. Yes I am still hurt by everything that happened and I truely think I will always be in some ways. Especially  by Chris, he is a bartender there and a canniving little man in every sense of the word. It is my believe that no matter who Frenchie brings in to manage that place, Chris will eventually get rid of them one way or another.
So that was my week. It was hell and hopefully it gets better soon. Will keep you all informed, have a great weekend, from your gay neighbors.

Thursday is here again

Well boys and girls, it is Thursday again and Matthew and I have had quite the week. We found out on Monday that we won the bid on the house we wanted and are now just trying to get everything arranged. So god damn much stuff to do with this, We have to find a lawyer, pay a city transfer tax fee, and provincial land transfer tax. This is all just crazy and really adds to the price of everything which we already have. Plus we have to pay moving costs and storage fees for all of our stuff from the house in Vancouver. All these expenses are much more accumulative as to what we had expected. I will be happy when we get the hell out of this apartment building and Matt and I and the kids have a bit more space to live. We do not take pocession until April 2nd. Which is totally cool and fine, because it will be good for us and then winter will be over. We can move everything that is in storage first and then move the stuff out of the apartment any time in April.
Also news from home and Dad is still not doing so well, apparently he may still be bleeding internally and may have to go in for another blood transfusion, it is very disturbing for mom and so hard on her to go through all of this and so hard on them both, it has been quite the last couple years with Mom being sick and now dad. It is hard on all of us. But I just feel so bad that I am not closer to help out a bit more. Hopefully everyone else is there more for them both.
On a brighter note Matthews cousin Elizabeth called today from New York, sounds like such a lovely lady and is always so good to Matthew. I am glad he has family like her. Happy Birthday Elizabeth, hope you have a great day and a fabulous celebration.
Had a job interview today and it went rather well and seems to be a good company to work for and will work out quite nicely for me in the end I think. It is one of these cater waiter companies and they email or call you with shifts and you basically pick your own shifts which will be ideal for me, especially with all the renos that we want to do to the new house.
Have a great night everyone and love from your gay neighbor.

Weekend Stress

Well the weekend was extremely busy and  stressful. On Saturday we ran around with our realtor Danny and looked at houses and ran around the city all afternoon. We managed to find 2 houses of definite interest and put a bid in on both. We are totally hoping for the one but would take the second if the first deal falls through. We should find out today at 1pm which is less than an hour away.
Both houses have different ups and downs and both are desirable in different ways. One has 3 bedrooms and a small yard and a good basement. The other is only 2 bedrooms with a huge yard and private drive and the basement may have to be dug out a bit. Both houses have a garage which is a bonus. It would just be so nice to have the 3 bedroom instead of the 2 and that would definitely be more Vancouver like.
In other news I have been looking for work again and know that I will find a job, I just have to wait and be patient and learn from my mistakes. This means no more trusting men or owners of any establishment because they just seem to screw you in the end after you give all your time and work your ass off for them. Never again shall I do this. I just need to work and do my job and quit trying to go out of my way for them. I need to make my life easier and better and not worry so much about them. Time for me to change.
Also been talking with an investor about opening my own bar and making it a huge deal here in Toronto, a new gay bar with special events that will knock you on ass.
I will know if this comes to light in the very near future. I will keep you all posted on this and everything else in our lives at the moment. Things are good and I have some papers to get drawn up today before the house purchase and also we are looking for a great real estate lawyer.
Well I will write more later. Take care and have a great day from your gay neighbor.

Thursday Night

I miss my bar and I have to say I really miss Heather and Paul. Last night was the first time I have been back in WAYLA all week and it was nice, Stephane and I had a great talk though I do not think at this point that I will ever return to work for him or at the bar. I have cleared my head and now have closure anyhow. The rest is up to Stephane and he now has to live with his decision. I will go back to work for him under certain conditions though with what he said , it will never be easy to go back and work and do anything and actually manage the place with what he has said in front of Paul and Chris and how he would take them over me. This you do not recover from as a manager and with Chris there, I do believe it will be difficult for anyone to do that job. He is a very manipulative little man.
Also last night Stephane made a statement which I will never be comfortable with, when we were talking he said now it is all about who will suck up to him more, i said straight up, I don't suck up or kiss ass to anyone especially for a job. I have realized I am very good at what I do and refuse to beg to do it somewhere even if I loved it at one point and time. I will say that I left for a good reason and if I return it will be for a good reason as well.
On a brighter note Matthew and I had an amazing time last night. We had a few drinks at WAYLA and then went to my new favorite bar, Boutique on Church street. Other great news is The Village Rainbow is closed and they say it is for Renovations, but I sure do hope they don't reopen, that would be lovely. As I say karma is a real bitch and maybe she has finally come for Andi and her boys. Hope so!
Well I will keep you all in touch and let you know what the weekend brings for all. Maybe we will find a house and maybe I will go back to WAYLA, you just never know what the universe is going to bring to you.

Forever Since I have been here

Well I can truly be a smuck and there has been so much going on and I have been so bad with keeping up with this and blogging. So let me catch you up a little in our lives and all the has been happening.
Matt and I went to Alberta for Christmas and we had a great time with my family, Dad was very sick the hole time we were out there and that made it so hard at times. We got there on December 21 and back to Toronto on the 27th, a very short trip and all about family. Mom is doing better with her health but still sick and she has lost a lot of weight which scares me a lot. We had three great dinners, first with my brother James and his wife Adrienne and Mom and Dad. Christmas eve was spent with Cindy and Dennis and their family and Mom and us. And then we have Christmas day which was spent at Cheryl and Lornes and the whole family. It was a great time. We had a lot of laughs and fun and tears. My father for the first time in forever said he loved me and was proud of me and it just made me so god damn happy in every way.
We got back to Toronto on the 27th at 6am and then I had to go back to work that night and back to the bar life. Dad ended up in the hospital on the 28th and things just weren't good at all. On New Years Eve, I had this whole party planned at the bar and it turned out to be a great success and a lot of fun. After I got the bar all decorated and everything set up to go, the phone rang and things just went from bad to worse and it was Mom, my father was bleeding to death internally and had to be run into emergency surgery and more blood transfusions to safe his life. He was in surgery for hours and we expected the worst and I worked all night tried to keep my mind off of it and get through everything. He was in the hospital for a couple weeks and several blood transfusions later, he is now home and still not so well. But at least he is home and still around and with Mom.
I have left my job at WAYLA Bar and am happy about leaving and not being there anymore because in the end it just wasn't worth it and certain people there were just so petty and backstabbing and accusatory of certain things that would never be true. I really enjoyed my time at the bar but was truly over worked and underpayed as so many of us are. I worked my ass off every day and was there a lot of day for more than 12 hours with little or no thanks and definitely no extra compensation. The owner of the bar also seemed to be very nice most of the time and was a true gentleman , or at least I thought, guess I am still easily fooled by men. The one bartender Paul was a sweetheart and so nice and caring in so many ways and yet maybe not so trusting, a man that can make you believe anything. Chris one of the other bartenders was just a complete douche in every way and a thankless little bastard. He was so unthankful with with everything. Lets just cut to the chase and explain this in detail to you all. I worked behind the bar every busy night and every special event helping the bartenders in every way I could and pouring drinks just like everyone else. I usually was given 20 or 40 dollars for working my ass off and helping them to make money. Not worth it at all. On Saturday the 14th I truly worked my ass off and at the end of the night, not even a fucking thank you from either Paul or Chris and not one sheckle. I felt honestly used by both of them. I decided to say nothing but the owner of the bar , Stephane that he should rectify this and say something and he did a week later aft er another very busy night on the Friday. Heather and paul agreed that I should be compensated appropriately for my help and hard work to help them make money, Chris on the other hand resorted to dirty pool and siad if I wanted tips to become a bartender and then I would make them, He also accused me of stealing from him when I did change drops, what an ass. I don't steal and never have and never would.
I say good bye to my friends at the bar, Heather, you are an amazing women and a great friend, Michelle you a spectacular human being and I am so glad I had the pleasure to work with both of you. Paul you are sweet and hopefully a man of your word. To Stephane and Chris, karma is a bitch and she is coming your way.

Also in this time and on January 15th, I lost a very dear friend and just want to say I miss you a great deal and thank you for all the great times. Thank you Lori and I love you. Rest well beautiful girl and thank you for all the great times we shared.

Almost Christmas Really???????

Well I know that  I have been really bad in writing and keeping you all informed as of lately so here goes. Matt was away for a week at the end of November and 1st part of December. He had to go back to Vancouver and finish things up there and pack up the rest of the house and get everything ready to move here to Toronto. A lot of work and a very emotional time for him. During that time it was so damn busy for me and so much to do here and with the bar, Christmas parties at the bar, regular events and then staffing and DJ changes and new events for the New Year. Plus all the regular stuff on a daily basis, Planning our trip to Calgary and another holiday to Chicago in the very near future. Work is going great and I am loving the bar and all , well 89.9% of my customers, there are a couple that just drive me over the edge. But all and all they are very great and quite amazing and a lot of fun. I also have the greatest staff, Heather, Paul, Chris and Michelle. If you all ever read this know that you are lovely and I depend on you all daily. I also have the best boss in the world, Stephane you are amazing and I am so happy to have you in my life. I waited for years for  a great boss and I have finally have one. Good things to come to those who wait.
For all those who are waiting to hear about my health and they have really found nothing yet, I have a small blockage in the left side of my head which is caused by a thing called horners syndrome and causes headaches and sweating from one side of the body more than the other and causes my one eye , the left in my case. It also causes my one pupil to go smaller and smaller. There are many things that may cause this, I have to go to the Neuroligist in January, hopefully they will find more. That is all I know right now about my health.
We are heading to Alberta on the 20th for Christmas and going to go and see the whole family. Will be fairly short visit, so not sure who we will have time to visit. Dinner on the 23rd, 24th, and 25th, busy busy busy times. Matts parents will be here in January. Looking forward to seeing family.
Well that is all for now, talk to you all soon.
