Well we are here and it has been almost a year in our house and so much has changed and more things are changing on a daily basis. Some great and some not so great but we still live with them.
February was a shit month for both Matt and I and we were both sick off and on for most of the month and now Matt is in pain again with his back, hoping this surgery helps, because it is starting to just get ridiculous and the pain he is in some days is just beyond believe.
Needless to say I have not done a whole lot in the house over the last month, I am actually just finally getting better over the last week myself and going out and doing stuff and talking to people again. It has been nice to start to get back to normal.
Today the weather is lovely and I can see grass and the snow is melting which is so perfect, the dogs love it and so do I. It has to be one of the few things I hate about Toronto, the snow, it does not do me any good nor do I like it at all, hate winter.
Matt and I have both had interviews for jobs again this week and we are both hopeful that soon one of us will get a great job and then back to a normal life, or at least what the rest of the world considers to be a normal life.
Matt will be going for surgery in less than 6 weeks and then we are not sure how long the recovery time will be and what is to come after that, but in life who the hell knows what is around the corner and if we did would it be as much fun , I think hell no!
Next summer we are building a fence around the entire property and also going to look at digging down our basement. We also need to lay a new and nicer front sidewalk and a few small things to improve landscape and curb appeal, because you just never know and that is the way life is. Can't wait to get a garden in again and fix up the flower beds and all those great things that I love, I just find the gardening so relaxing and it also looks so nice when done.
Well I am going to get my ass to work and get a few things done in this house today, Wayne is suppose to come and visit later if the weather holds up, he is going to bring Jade out and visit us for a bit. Been a while since I have seen him again. Makes me kind of miss living downtown in that way and just the village and stuff. Love our neighborhood though. And our neighbors.
well I am going to run for now and I will be back soon, thanks for reading and have a great weekend. Enjoy the weather and have a marvelous spring break.

Health and Stuff, like our passive agressive neighbor
Well it has been a really rough month and my health has been shit to say the least, from the cold and flu to a lovely pneumonia which is still holding on and I can't seem to shake it completely. Sucks.
Started on with a bit of a cold in early February and then a week ago I found out it had turned to Pneumonia. My chest feels like there is an elephant sitting on it an and it is hard to breath at times, I get up for small periods of time every day but am no where to the energy I had just a month ago, and that really is a true disappointment to me, I was so close to finishing the bedroom walls, then the whole damn house would have been painted. At least we got the main floor done and pictures hung down here and everything, makes getting better a bit easier.
What does not help with any health concern is living right next door to two of the biggest idiots, I have ever met in my life, hope your renovating that kitchen so you can list your house next year, because besides your dogs barking, your the two rudest people I have ever had the displeasure of meeting. We are polite, send them a note or try to talk to them about issues with the property and their animals or their company backing over our lawn and destroying our lawn lanterns. We never get a reply or anything and these are the people we share a semi detached house with, oh well wait till I drop the fence plans in their door, that might get a response from the inconsiderates.
I just hate rudeness of any sort, but our world is filled with it, we have been very nice and always put everything in writing to deal with the house and them or other people. Their dogs were quiet for about a week, now they are barking again and it is not just us who hears them, even people two doors down can hear them bark, ridiculous. When we first moved in they were nice and offered to help pay for insulation in between the houses, never heard another word about that, so to ask them about anything else just seems like a waste of time, but I guess we have to ask. If for no other reason than to just protect ourselves with them and the rest of the world. Talk about passive aggressive douches.
This morning just to be extra childish they shovelled right up the middle of a joint sidewalk, how fucking ridiculous can you get, I have also been cleaning up water since 8:30am leaking from there side because they changed their eaves and refuse to respond or even correct the issue.
You don't want to play hardball with an angry queen, I am not so passive, but can be very aggressive if you push me to that point.
On other health fronts, like discuss Matt for a minute, he has been in and out with a cold all month as well and his back has been giving him a lot of trouble. In pain some days and other days, feeling really good, the last couple days have been bad for him and he has not been so well, but the last couple weeks, he has been a trooper, looking after me, taking the girls out all the time and cooking all the meals while I was sick, what a wonderful husband. He is now scheduled for his back surgery and will be going in for surgery in April, then he will be out of commission for a bit and that really sucks as it will be close to summer and the one thing we have in this house is a lot of stairs, hope he can handle them. He really liked his surgeon that he met and that is a great thing. I am hoping that recooperation time will not be too long, but who knows, I am sure he will cover, cause he is strong and very stubborn , much like me. A match made in heaven, both strong willed and bitchy in our own ways, at least we know how to get what we want and help each other to get to that point, talk about a perfect marriage.
Well that is all that is new for now, time to go and get some rest, was up for my 3 hours now time for a bit of rest again, have a great day and thanks for reading.

February in a Nut Shell
Well here it is , I used to write in here a lot and had more time to do this, now I am looking for work, finishing a house renovation and concentrating on my health so this will probably be my last posting for a while. Sorry to say that, but I just need to concentrate on other things and this will stop my family from knowing anything about our lives as some of them still read this unfortunately.
So here is what we have done in the last month in the house, we have sanded all the dry wall and painted the main floor and hung pictures finally. Sanded all the floors in preparation for staining and varnishing, will be 4 to 7 coats of varnish, so we have a glass finish on the floors when completed.
Also this month we have prepared the upstairs floors for painting and finished with mudding the dry wall , all we have to do now is sand everything and then it will be completed up there and all done, holy shit. So happy to be this near to completion and looking back at all the work we have done, am so proud of both of us. We moved in to a house built in 1906 and had carpeting with no underlay, glued to the original hardwood and falling apart, literally dust in parts and certain areas. Walls that were chipping plaster, disgusting mismatched baseboards throughout, then when we took down walls and ceilings we found knob and tube wiring and junction boxes from hell all on our lovely 6 fused electrical panel, no insulation in most of the walls.
So all and all we have done one hell of a lot of work and it has been great. Now both of us going back to work in the very near future.
So that catches you all up on the house, February has been hell for us both as far as colds and flu, Matt was sick for over a week with a cold and he is feeling much better the last week. I have now been down for the count for over two weeks and went back to the doctor on Wednesday and now have pneumonia which has really taken a toll on my body. I have to go back to the doctor on Monday to see if things are getting any better and if the pills that I am on are helping at all. This sucks completely.
I am suffering and I hate it, not out of bed for more than an hour at a time and my chest hurts so bad. I get up to eat and that is about all. my appetite is not quite what it was a couple weeks ago and I am afraid that all the weight I gained the last month I may loose again. I have now quit smoking for 2 months.
Well not much else to say at the moment, except wish us luck to get employment, finish the house and better health. Thank you all for reading and I will be back at least once a month, but that's about all for now. have a great weekend.

Almost 2 weeks
Good Morning to you all, hope life is well and things are going good. 2013 has been great for Matt and I thus far and we are doing well and all seems to be good in our little house. All of the dry wall is now up and most of it mudded, will finish mudding today and then it is time to sand and then we can paint this bitch and get things unpacked finally.
As for the almost 2 weeks as title of blog, it is almost 2 weeks that I have quit smoking, I have not had a cigarette since New Years Eve. I am quite proud of myself after almost 30 years of smoking, starting to smoke when I was only 12 years old. This has been a battle for me my entire life and for the first time I have support to help me quit, thank you my hot husband. He has stopped smoking cigars and everything to support me in my battle to quit. For those who don't know I have suffered from C.O.P.D. now for over 5 years and it was really starting to effect me and my life.
So back to what we have been up to lately in the house, we are on our last few little things to get done and it is going fairly well. Now that it is dry walled, mudded, next step is sanding and then time to paint and do these floors downstairs and paint the hard wood upstairs, yes I said paint, on the main floor we are staining them a dark brown and upstairs i am painting them grey in the spare room and master bedroom.
Will post pictures when we are all done the house, by the way yes I am taking my time doing the house and finishing stuff here.
So our new year has been going great and we are both doing well. I have to be honest though I have been very upset and totally stressed about one or two things. The first is at Christmas I reached out and contacted my mother by phone and talked with her and honestly tried to reconnect with her and be a part of her life again. maybe this was a mistake, I am not sure, I really thought she would phone here and wish me a Happy New Year or at least reach out as I did, maybe I was wrong and she is really done with me as she has told other people. Who the hell knows and maybe by writing about this i will quit caring or at least quit thinking about it.
The other thing I am stressed about right now is just me being a worry wart so I will get over that too and choose not to tell anyone at the moment.
Well not a whole ot more to say at the moment, except have a great weekend and talk to you all soon.

2013
Well we are in a New Year and I could not be happier, it has started off great so far. New Years Eve we had a small party which was perfect and we had great friends over, nothing could have been better.
At our little party Nancy, who is always so generous and a lot of fun, Louisa, a women of many stories and laughs throughout the night. Wayne who I just adore and has made a far better friend than a boyfriend, though both were great, he brought his friend Avin. Mara and Jeff got here and it was so nice to see Mara let loose and have fun, and watching Jeff dance and just have fun. Jeff and Mara friends Ashley and Will came by as well, not sure they were too with our small get together but what the hell we all had fun and partied till the wee hours of the morning, I finally went to bed at 6:30am after cleaning up and stuff.
New years day Matt was a little hung over as were many of our friends, I am sure. So glad and happy to have brought in the New Year with good friends, thank you all for coming.
After New Years I ended up taking a couple days off and relaxing a bit and taking a break from the house and work in the house because preparing for New years eve, I worked my ass off building a bulk head, and dry walling the ceiling in the house and the rest of the walls. Today back to work and get some of this mud and taping done and finish the walls and then tomorrow hopefully sanding and painting and getting this fucking house to completion, I will be so glad when it is all done and life goes back to normal.
I love it when I get to paint and decorate and finish the rough parts and make things look great, but getting to that point has been really trying for the both of us and made me a little, okay a lot bitchy at times and I wish I had more help some days but what can you do.
So anyway I am going to get back to work and finish what I want to get done today in the house. Hopefully I can get a lot accomplished today. Happy New Year to all that we love and all of our friends around the world.
Take care and thanks for reading.

So much to do
Well so much to do here in the house and so little time it seems, Tomorrow is New Years Eve and we are having a party, time to have some fun in our lives!
Yesterday was another extremely busy day and we got a lot accomplished , not as much as I would have like, but at least things are getting done and we are on our way to completion. We finished the dry wall in the spare room upstairs and I painted the pantry doors with chalkboard paint, a cool color to I might add, you ask why two grown men need a chalk board in the kitchen, why simple I answer, to leave notes, make lists and write down groceries we may need.
Today I am going to take down the Christmas tree and get that all put away, try and put dry wall up on the ceilings in the dining room and if I feel like it sew my leather backing for the island, yes I said leather, we have decided to make leather panels for the back side of the island and I am going to sew them into suares and then glue them on, should look really cool.
Then tomorrow I need to clean up the house, get some alcohol , a very important thing, make a few appie plates and then have a nap so I can get good and shit faced tomorrow night, because damn it I need to and so does Matt, we need some release from work around the house and nothing like New Years, good friends and a lot of fun.
Not sure if I mentioned , but on Christmas day I talked to my mother, was nice, and so needed. I missed hearing her voice and am glad that she is well. As for the rest of the family, I realized on Christmas you don't give a shit and maybe I don't either anymore, I have all the family I need with Mom, Matt, his parents and a few good friends.
Need to send out a special thanks to great friends and neighbors Jeff for coming to Home Depot the other day and helping me to load dry wall and everything else and to Louisa for the loan of her truck so we could actually pick up everything that was needed to move forward in this house. Our neighbors are amazing.
Seriously time to get my ass off the couch now and get to work, have a great day and a Happy New Year, see you all in 2013, thanks again for reading and for everyones support over a tough year in 2012, I have great friends and I love you all.

Another Christmas gone
Well yesterday was Christmas and I have to one of the best that Matthew and I have spent together. We had a lovely relaxing day and a great evening as well and I took a day off from working here in the house.
Got up yesterday morning and sent off my Christmas text and well wishes to people. Then did laundry and emptied the dishwasher and made breakfast, nice and relaxing and perfect. Matt and I do not exchange gifts at all so we only got a gift from his parents and one from Wayne, lovely and beautiful gifts though!
I extended an olive branch yesterday and phoned my mom, we talked for a little while on the phone, not a long time but I have to say it was the best gift I could give myself was talking to her and hearing her voice again, it was not a long conversation but it was an amazing feeling after almost 7 months to just talk to her.
The we went to Xaviers and had Italian cake and Espresso , after that we went to Flora house for Christams dinner with her two children, it was a great dinner and an amazing time. After that home for a break and to play Tennis on the X Box and then over to Jeff and Mara for a drink. The perfect end to the perfect Christmas. Thank you to our fabulous neighbors one and all for making Christmas day and night so great. We are truly lucky to be here and live in a great neighborhood.
As for the house we are plugging along with things and slowly but surely getting it done. On Christmas Eve day I refinished the pot rack and got it down to the original metal and made ti look as if it were just welded and very industrial feel to it which fits the kitchen perfectly, Today I am going to do a bit of dry wall and the hopefully get around to painting the kitchen a second coat and maybe the bathroom if I can find some more white paint. Later I have to go over to mara and Jeff and get some wood and start to build a closet for the master bedroom and then move the dresser and wardrobe to my closet in the basement. I can now see the end of the house and work here in sight and man does that ever feel good.
I want to wish you all a great holiday season and may you have the best in and all you deserve in 2013.
