Hello and good morning all
I guess i should tell you all why I am writing this blog and also how I came up with the name. So here goes I am writing this because of all the suicides by those who in the last few years who were ridiculed because they are gay and also because of all the gay bashings in the last few years and to let people know we are just the same as a straight couple and it is alright too be gay or whatever you want to be in life as long as you are yourself.
When I was growing up, it was very hard to be gay and I knew when I was 14 years old I guess and was picked on alot in school even though I never did come out until my late 20's. I often thought of suicide and eventually just left school and the little town I grew up in and went on to live my life. I have to thank a lot of the girls I went to school with which I now realize were life savers and I am still in touch with. I lived my life as a lie for many years dating girls and trying to fit in which made me very miserable for quite some time.
As for gay bashings I will get into that another time and explain my opinions on that and why we as a world need to be more understanding. In the end I took my high school by correspondence and also my college at home so I wouldn't be so picked on. I went to work and dealt with it there instead.
In the end just a note for all to remember we do not chose to be gay, we are born gay just as you are born straight and certain race. No one would choose a life as a minority and being ridiculed and picked on.
Also the last reason why I write this is to let you into our lives and to get to know and love us as a gay couple and understand that our lives are no different than yours or anyone elses. Also how I got the name My Gay Neighbor, we got that this last summer by one of our neighbors and I am not sure why they called us that but I am glad they did because it made them more understanding of us and that we really are no different as you will soon see.
