It is now the second last day of the year and I suppose I should start to recap a bit of our 2010 and maybe this will help you to get to know Matt and I better. I will start with last January and go from there, so here with go a year in review with your gay neighbor.
January I was working for a restaurant and was spending more than 90 hours a week a the restaurant and put a lot of stress on our relationship, mostly because I was more dedicated to a job that I thought was worth it but really wasn't. Lesson to everyone including myself, love and family are far more important than some job and a little money.
February, Matt and I almost broke up, so not even a year into our relationship and we are almost done due to my job and lack of attention to him and a few other reasons. January made February a really rough start and therefor we almost didn't make it a year. Oh and I left that job after all, they basically just used me to get the liquor licence and hire and set up the staff for them. Bullshit is what that place was. My jobs since I moved back to Vancouver from Toronto in October of 2008, have been very thankless and horrible. I am a trained Restaurant Hotel Manager and now find myself unable to get a job because I am competing with people who are 20 something and will work for basically nothing.
Any how back to February, after i left my job, due to a lack of respect from my employer and their refusal to renew my contract and give me a bit more money and have me work a few less hours. February eventually got better for Matt and I and we started to work more on our relationship and make it stronger. Also in February my sister Cheryl was here for 16 days to volunteer for the 2010 Winter Olympics and stayed with us off and on during that time, we had a lot of fun with her and seeing all the sights in our own city. We( Matt and I) also finished our extensive house renovations, moving the kitchen , tearing down walls, removing carpet and then laying laminate and new ceramic tiles and installing a totally newly positioned kitchen at the back of the house which is lovely I might add. Matthew did all the plumbing by himself, so proud of him for that. We also painted and put in new cabinets and a fireplace and new mantle after exposing old brick and stuff in our 1930's home.
March was a good month and we had our 1 year anniversary and I continued to look for work, with no luck which I guess was meant to be when I look at the rest of the year and what happened. I grew use to sitting at home and doing nothing.
I will publish more in a bit, I am going to take a cigarette break and get more coffee. Thanks for reading.
